Meet Ted Wells
Greeting JGES Families,
My name is Ted Wells and I am proud and honored to serve as the building principal here at James Gettys Elementary School.
For those who do not know me, I want to share a little of my background. I began my career in education teaching 1st grade in the Seneca Valley School District in Butler County. From there, I taught 2nd and 4th grade before moving into administration. I first served as a middle school assistant principal, and then served as a K-5 elementary school principal in the Titusville Area School District. From there I spent several years in the Butler Area School District, where I served as principal for both Clearfield and Summit Township Elementary Schools. More recently, our family resided in Nevada where I served as a building principal for 2 elementary schools in a rural school district east of Reno.
My wife Bridget and I have three children. We reside in Abbottstown with our youngest daughter Cameron and our two dogs, Miley and Toto. Our middle son Hunter, is serving in the Air Force in California, and our oldest daughter Jordan resides in Cranberry Twp. In addition to our children, we have many family members who reside in the York and Pittsburgh regions, thus we are so excited to be “home”.
In my role of principal, I am committed to build on the strengths and successes of our students, staff, and community and pledge to seek out opportunities where, when working together, we can make our great school even better. That commitment extends to efforts to increase student achievement, teacher and staff satisfaction and growth, and parent and community involvement. I encourage our parents and families to get involved in our school and welcome your participation and support.
Our teachers and staff are an incredible group of caring, dedicated individuals.
